About Me

I am fascinated by the structure and function of the human body and how we all are capable of healing: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Massage Therapy nourishes me on a soul level, both as the recipient and the provider.  When energies blend and trust, amazing healing is possible.

I remember when this fascination began.  I was taking a Kinesiology exam in college.  It was an essay question.  My professor did a somersault and we students had to describe the order of firing muscles needed to perform that sequence of movements.  I was in awe and naturally understood the process.  That awe is still alive in me today as I listen to my clients (with my ears, hands and heart) and help to guide them in understanding their stressors/injuries/conditions of the body.

My education has taken me down many paths.  Mostly down the School for Lifelong Learning.  I have been in Massage Therapy private practice for 10 years, but I draw on my developed skills from working as an Occupational Therapist, homeschool mom, homebuilder, electrician & plumber.  All these have a place in my tool pouch.

As a bodyworker,   I am confident that calming the nervous system has measurable effects in rebalancing all body systems.  I continue to utilize my training in Craniosacral Therapy as a gentle way to do just that.  I value what I do for work and I believe in the healing power of stillness; at the very least, creating an opportunity of slowing down for people in various phases of unrest, dis.ease, and/or self care.  I love the concept of self awareness within my massage framework.  It feels like a partnership of sorts.  My intention for my clients is always to help rebalance body, mind and spirit and integrate new awareness into functional lives...

"Only the development of compassion and understanding for others can bring us the tranquility we all seek."

Therapeutic Techniques Offered

All sessions begin with a medical history review and interview so I can have a better understanding of your current conditions and needs.  My intention is to create a safe and trusting environment to allow for optimal healing and release of tension held in the body.  I utilize a variety of massage techniques depending on your expressed needs.   Once the massge session is complete, I am better able to make recommendations for specific stretches/home exericses to assist you in regaining more balance and function.
A STANDARD SESSION consists of a customized blend of Swedish, sports, deep tissue, myofascial release, range of motion, craniosacral and zero balancing techniques.  I may use one or all of these styles, depending on how your body responds.
These techniques can be beneficial for an endless array of injuries, body imbalances, or simply tapping into a state of relaxation.

A CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (CST) SESSION is based on my continued training in the work of Dr John Upledger with mentor Don Ash, PT.  CST is a gentle approach of listening to the cerebrospinal fluid that permeates and surrounds the brain and spinal cord. By using light intentional touch, my goal is to encourage clients to heal/unwind restrictions held within their bodies.  I have found this technique quite effective for the relief of minor head injuries/concussions, Temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) issues, pre and post dental work, migraine and tension headaches, stress and anxiety disorders.  Any time stress is present in our bodies, I believe it can't hurt to be still and receive a CST SESSION...

Linda is perhaps the best massage therapist I have had the pleasure of working with.  And I've worked with a number of them.

She seems to intuit exactly what I need at each session and goes right to the issue.  But even more is the feeling of well-being both during the session and for hours afterwards.  It is a great feeling to put myself in her hands and come away from every massage with my body in shape and my soul at peace.

Linda has magic in her hands, and magic in her mind/spirit as well.  She has supported my body's need for rebalancing while encouraging and supporting my spiritual wellbeing.  Her healing powers are prodigious, and I am lucky to have benefitted from her care for many years, through several injuries and arthritic challenges.  I attribute much of my robust good health, now that I'm 74, to Linda.  If there were stars on a scale of 5, she'd get 10!

Peaks Island, ME & Jensen Beach, FL

I have been a client of Linda's for the past 3 years.  Her experience and skill as an LMT was apparent from my first visit.  Each of our monthly sessions starts with a recap of my month: any issues I've experienced and areas to be worked on, or an area that may need special attention.  She has an effective understanding of the anatomy and is both knowledgeable and responsible in her procedures.

Linda's office environment is quiet, calm and relaxing - which is exactly what I look forward to each visit.

I recommend her without reservation.
